Missouri+3 inches of snow=BLIZZARD!!!!

It snowed today in my neighborhood, well it was more like dandruff then snow. It kinda reminded me of a snow storm we had early this year. I work at a small grocery store and that day started out normal but as more and more people caught wind of the mild winter storm approaching, the busier it got. We had lines reaching to the back of the store as the snow depth grew millimeter by millimeter. When it hit 1.5 inches people really started getting concerned, they were worried they wouldn't be able to get to work the next day. No joke. Now me being an individual who came from the northeast, a place were they get 8 to 12 inches of snow per storm, thought this was just hilarious. You could still see the tops of the grass blades for crying out loud and these locals think its a nuclear winter. "Get the tire chains dear!!! We got a mess of a storm comin'!! Could be snowed in for weeks!!"

Just so you have an idea of how people react to snow around here, I've developed a scale to show the level of reaction in relation to the amount of snow:

0.0-0.5 inches= Mild

0.5-1.0 inches= Moderate

1.0-2.0 inches= Dangerous

2.0-4.0 inches= Life-Threatening

4.0 inches and up= Apocalypse

So thats just a peek at one of the aspects of living in Missouri.

Central America, time moves a little slower here. Its a very different place...where people can wear pajamas just about everywhere and it's accepted. Where the washers and dryers have their place on the front lawn instead of the laundry room. Where if you need to talk on the phone, you go outside to talk cordless phone or not.

This is the place I moved to seven years ago. I've seen many different things in that time and I regret not starting this blog years ago. If you've ever been curious as to how people in this area live and what kind of things they do, this is the blog for you.
